NEET UG Counselling is conducted by the State for 85% seats and Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for 15% seats for admission to various undergraduate medical and dental courses. After the release of the NEET UG results, the MCC will publish the eligibility requirements and seat allocation.
There will be a total of four counselling sessions: rounds 1 and 2, a mop-up round, and a stray vacancy round to fill any remaining vacancies. To be eligible for seat allocation, online registration is required. Based on the choices made, the number of seats available in a specific institute, the reservation criteria, and other factors, MCC will release the results of the seat allocation. Each round’s seat allocation results will be made public separately.
MCC conducts counselling for 15% of the All India Quota seats, and the appropriate state counselling agencies will conduct counselling for the remaining 85%. MCC manages the seat allocation process for deemed, central universities, 15% AIQ seats, and 85% state quota seats. To participate in the counselling process, candidates must register online.

Who Conducts NEET UG Counselling?
There are two main authorities responsible for NEET UG Counselling:
- Medical Counselling Committee (MCC): Conducts counselling for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in government medical colleges, all seats in deemed universities, central universities, institutes like AIIMS and JIPMER, and B.Sc. Nursing programs across India.
- State Counselling Authorities: These authorities handle counselling for the remaining 85% State Quota seats in government & private medical colleges within their respective states.
MCC NEET Counselling
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is the authorised body to conduct counselling for the National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Test (NEET) for qualified applicants. The MCC/DGHS will conduct counselling for 15% AIQ of government colleges, 100% Deemed Universities, Central Universities (including Delhi University, AMU, and BHU including Institutional/Domicile Quota), ESIC, AFMC (only Registration Part), and I.P Universities (VMMC, SJH, and D ABVIMS, RML, and& ESIC Dental), Delhi (50% AIQ + 50% Institutional Quota), 100% AIIMS, 100% JIPMER.
Types of Quotas under MCC Counselling (15% AIQ)
- AIQ Online Counselling (15%): Includes a diverse range of seats from different institutions across India. Encompasses seats from states, BHU, AIIMS, JIPMER, AMU, DU, and ESIC. Seats are domicile-free, ensuring opportunities for candidates nationwide.
- AIIMS: 20 AIIMS institutes offering a total of 2037 MBBS seats. The reservation policy follows Central Government guidelines. Counselling conducted by MCC solely for AIIMS’s open seats.
- JIPMER: Conducts separate counselling for state quota seats. MCC manages counselling for open seats contributed by JIPMER.
- Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) Pune: Candidates register through MCC portal. Counselling conducted by AFMC authorities, MCC not involved in seat allotment.
- ESIC – Insured Persons Quota: MCC conducts counselling for seats reserved for Insured Persons’ Students. Domicile-free seats ensuring access to candidates from all regions.
- Central Universities (BHU/AMU/DU): MCC facilitates online counselling for these universities.
- Deemed Universities: MCC conducts counselling for three rounds, excluding the stray vacancy round. Deemed universities manage the stray vacancy round. Reservation policy includes NRI quota as per specific guidelines.
