Maharashtra NEET Counselling is conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) for undergraduate admissions to various medical and dental courses throughout institutes in Maharashtra. Candidates who want to attend Maharashtra’s NEET counselling, must register on the CET cell’s official website and fill out an online registration form. However, one must qualify for NEET in order to take part in the counselling procedure for MBBS and BDS seats. Maharashtra NEET fills 9,000 MBBS and 3,526 BDS seats in the state.
A total of 4230 government seats are available at 24 government medical colleges, with 610 places marked for the all-India quota. In 17 private medical colleges, there are 2120 private seats. There are also four government dental colleges and twenty-five private dental colleges.
This state is also home to the majority of the country’s best medical institutes. Through the All India Quota, candidates from the State are given precedence for admission to the state’s premier medical colleges.

Counselling Process (State Quota)
Step 1: Registration
Online applications are accepted from qualified candidates for admission to all Government, private, and minority colleges. The online application form are provided through the website. www.mahacet.org.
- A link to the application form will be displayed. Select the Application Form link.
- The instruction page will appear. Read the Online Form Filling Instructions carefully. After reading the Instructions, the applicant must click To proceed to the actual Online Application form, click the NEXT button.
- The candidate must complete all of the fields on the application form.
- Before allowing him / her to submit, the system will validate the required fields.
- Prior to submitting the Application Form, the candidate should carefully read the conditions listed under “Declaration by the Candidate.” Before submitting the application form, the candidate must agree to the conditions listed below.
Choice Filling
- The candidate may fill out the online choices form multiple times before clicking the submit button.
- There is no way to change the preference once the submit button has been clicked.
- These preferences are used in the first round and subsequent rounds of selection / upgradation, including the Mop Up round. Upgrades in subsequent rounds, including the Mop Up round, are required.
Payment of Fee
- The cost of the NEET online application form is Rs. 1000/- for the State quota, Rs. 5000 for the Institutional quota, and Rs. 5000 for both quotas. Because the application fee is non-refundable, candidates are advised to read the Information Brochure and determine their eligibility.
- It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to determine eligibility and make online payment of fees within the time frame specified, failing which the online application will be rejected.

About MCC
Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The MCC is responsible for conducting online counselling for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate medical and dental courses in India, including MBBS and BDS, through the NEET UG and NEET PG exams, respectively.
The MCC conducts centralized counselling for the All India Quota (AIQ) seats in government medical and dental colleges across India, as well as for seats in Deemed and Central Universities, ESIC, and AFMC colleges. The counselling process involves registration, choice filling, seat allotment, document verification, and admission to the allotted colleges.
MCC NEET Counselling Registration
MCC holds four rounds of NEET-UG counseling for AIQ, including a mop-up round and a stray vacancy round. Following the completion of Round 2, the MCC fills the remaining seats in a mop-up round and a stray vacancy round. The following steps must be taken:
- Visit the official website: Visit the official website of MCC (https://mcc.nic.in/) and click on the “UG Medical Counseling” tab.
- New registration: Click on “New Registration” and fill in all the required details such as personal details, contact details, NEET exam details, and security pin. After filling in all the details, click on the “Submit” button.
- Login credentials: After successful registration, a new page will appear with your login credentials. Use these credentials to log in and fill in your choices of colleges and courses.
- Choice filling: Fill in your preferred colleges and courses in order of priority. You can choose as many choices as you want.
- Locking of choices: After you have filled in your choices, you need to lock them by clicking on the “Lock Choices” button. Once the choices are locked, you cannot make any changes.
- Seat allotment: The MCC conducts the seat allotment process based on your rank, category, and the choices filled by you. You will be able to see your seat allotment result on the official website.
- Reporting to the allotted college: If you are satisfied with the seat allotted to you, you need to report to the allotted college within the specified time with all the required documents and pay the admission fee.
