Hospital of Government Medical College Aurangabad
The college and hospital complex now consists of 30 buildings spread across 99 acres. The college hospital, which began with 300 beds in a small Nizam bungalow in 1960, now has 1170 beds spread across various departments and wards.
In all clinical, para-clinical, and pre-clinical departments, the hospital provides qualified, dedicated staff as well as modern equipment.
The 1177-bed hospital provides medical services with cutting-edge technology for outpatient (OPD) and inpatient (IPD) patient care (IPD). In 2010-2011, the average patient flow was 27810/month OPD and 5650/month IPD. This hospital’s phenomenal growth can be attributed to its speciality services.
Since four years, the hospital has had a Super-specialty setup CVTS to supplement the existing patient care services (cardiovascular thoracic surgery). This department’s services are improving in comparison to approved standards.
With the availability of more facilities and resources, super-specialty courses such as cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, anesthesiology, transfusion medicine, and so on will be available in the near future. Once these courses begin, super-specialty doctors will provide 24X7 super-specialty patient care.
Placements
The college provides a pleasant environment as well as excellent guidance. After completing their MBBS, all students must complete a year of mandatory rotatory internship. Following that, students typically apply for post-graduate studies.
Candidates are given a year-long internship. Then it is up to them to decide whether they want to continue their education or work in various hospitals and medical institutions.
Every year, nearly all of the students are placed. Packages are determined by the field of study after graduation. The package varies between 25 and 30 LPA in fields such as radiology and paediatrics. In terms of placements and opportunities, it is the best course.
Students can find work in any hospital, public or private. All of the students will work as interns at the same government college.
