Counselling Process

Step 1: Registration

Candidates must register themselves on the official website of the Directorate of Health Services, Government of Meghalaya by providing their personal and academic details, NEET-PG 2024 scorecard, and other required documents.

Step 2:  Payment of Counselling Fee

Candidates must pay the counselling fee through the available payment modes. The fee amount may vary depending on the category of the candidate.

Step 3: Choice Filling

After successful payment of the counselling fee, candidates must fill in their choices of college and course based on their preference and eligibility. Candidates must ensure to fill in as many choices as possible to increase their chances of getting a seat.

Step 4: Seat Allotment

 Based on the merit list, preferences of college and course filled by the candidates, availability of seats, and reservation policy, the Directorate of Health Services will allocate seats to the candidates.

Step 5: Reporting to the allotted College

Candidates who have been allotted a seat must report to the respective college within the specified timeline with all the necessary documents for admission and pay the requisite admission fee.

Step 6: Second and Subsequent Rounds of Counselling

If any seats remain vacant after the first round of counselling, the Directorate of Health Services may conduct subsequent rounds of counselling to fill those seats. Candidates who did not get a seat in the first round or did not participate in the first round may participate in the subsequent rounds by following the same counselling process.

Step 7:  Admission and Document Verification

Once the seat allotment process is complete, candidates must report to the respective college and complete the admission and document verification process. Candidates must carry all the original documents along with the photocopies for verification.

Step 8: Commencement of Classes

 After the completion of the admission process, the respective colleges will start the classes for the postgraduate medical courses. Candidates must attend the classes regularly and complete the course as per the curriculum.

  • High School/Secondary School Certificate issued by the Board / University showing the applicant’s date of birth.
  • Pass Certificate / Provisional Pass Certificate of the qualifying MBBS examination
  • Mark sheets 1st, 2nd, and 3rd ( Part-I and Part–II) MBBS Professional Examinations
  • Attempt certificate of MBBS Professional Examinations.
  • Internship completion certificate/certificate from the head of the Institution/ college that the candidate will complete the Internship by 31st July 2024.
  • Permanent/ Provisional Registration Certificate within the validity period issued by MCI / State Medical Council
  • NEET PG 2024 Admit card.
  • NEET PG 2024 Score Card.
  • The candidates must submit a Domicile/ Permanent Residential Certificate valid for the year 2024 from the competent authority (i.e. District Commissioner of the state or any Government authorized Official) proving that he/she is a Domicile/Permanent resident of one of the 8 (eight) North Eastern states of India including Sikkim.
  • No Objection Certificate: If the candidate joins elsewhere in the PG course, have to bring NOC from the concerned college for joining the PG course in NEIGRIHMS.
  • Candidates are to indicate if he is a student of NEIGRIHMS. If so, write the name of the state the candidate belongs to in the appropriate Test Box provided in the Application Form.

MCC 50% AIQ Quota

About MCC

Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The MCC is responsible for conducting online counselling for admission of 50% of seats to various postgraduate medical and dental courses in India, including MBBS and BDS, through the NEET UG and NEET PG exams, respectively.

The MCC conducts centralized counselling for the 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in government medical and dental colleges across India, as well as for seats in Deemed and Central Universities, ESIC, and AFMC colleges. The counselling process involves registration, choice filling, seat allotment, document verification, and admission to the allotted colleges.

MCC NEET Counselling Registration

MCC holds four rounds of NEET-UG counseling for AIQ, including a mop-up round and a stray vacancy round. Following the completion of Round 2, the MCC will fill the remaining seats in a mop-up round and a stray vacancy round. The following steps must be taken:

  • Visit the official website: Visit the official website of MCC (https://mcc.nic.in/) and click on the “UG Medical Counseling” tab.
  • New registration: Click on “New Registration” and fill in all the required details such as personal details, contact details, NEET exam details, and security pin. After filling in all the details, click on the “Submit” button.
  • Login credentials: After successful registration, a new page will appear with your login credentials. Use these credentials to log in and fill in your choices of colleges and courses.
  • Choice filling: Fill in your preferred colleges and courses in order of priority. You can choose as many choices as you want.
  • Locking of choices: After you have filled in your choices, you need to lock them by clicking on the “Lock Choices” button. Once the choices are locked, you cannot make any changes.
  • Seat allotment: The MCC conducts the seat allotment process based on your rank, category, and the choices filled by you. You will be able to see your seat allotment result on the official website.
  • Reporting to the allotted college: If you are satisfied with the seat allotted to you, you need to report to the allotted college within the specified time with all the required documents and pay the admission fee.

Rounds For Counselling

Round 1:

  • Register: Pay the non-refundable registration fee and refundable security deposit.
  • Choose colleges: Fill in your preferred colleges in order of priority and lock your choices.
  • Seat allotment: MCC processes your choices and allots seats based on merit and rank. Results are published on the MCC website.
  • Reporting: If you get a seat, report to the allotted college and complete admission formalities. You can opt for an upgrade to Round 2 here.

Round 2:

  • New Registrations: Only for those who didn’t register in Round 1 or resigned/didn’t report in Round 1.
  • Fresh choices: Fill in new choices for available seats.
  • Results and reporting: Same as Round 1.

Mop-Up Round:

  • Fresh registrations: Only for those who exited Round 2 with fee forfeiture or those who registered but got no seat in Rounds 1 & 2. Not eligible for those who joined a seat in Round 2.
  • Fresh choices: Fill in new choices for available seats.
  • Results and reporting: Same as Round 1.

Stray Vacancy Round:

  • Filling of choices and allotment happens through state websites. No fresh registration on MCC website.
  • Reporting to the allotted college.
