Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), formerly known as the Berry White Medical School, is a public medical college and hospital located in Dibrugarh, Assam, India. It is one of India’s premier and oldest medical institutes in North Eastern Region.

The College was established as Berry White Medical School in 1900 with a large donation from Sir John Berry White. On November 3, 1947, it was renamed Assam Medical College and Hospital.

Since its inception, Assam Medical College has produced over 7536 medical graduates. It began with 65 seats and now enrols 170 students in the MBBS programme each year. Postgraduate classes began in 1962, and the college has produced over 2758 specialists, both degree and diploma holders, to date.

This pioneering medical institute’s role in providing health care to millions of needy patients over the last six decades is admirable. In addition, the institute provides medical and paramedical manpower and training to various government, industrial, and private hospitals throughout the North East region, as well as faculty development for the establishment of new medical colleges.

Assam NEET Counselling Process

Registration

On the official website, the Assam NEET Counselling application form will be available. The following steps must be taken in order to complete the Assam NEET Counselling registration:

  • Visit Assam NEET Counselling’s official website (dme.assam.gov.in)
  • Then, select the “MBBS/BDS Counselling ” option.
  • After reading all of the instructions, click the “Apply Now” button.
  • Fill out all of the required credentials, such as personal, academic, and address information.
  • Following that, candidates must upload a scanned image of their signature and a photograph.
  • The image should be between 35 and 20 kilobytes in size.
  • The size of the signature should be between 30 and 15 kilobytes.
  • Both the signature and the photos should be in.jpeg or.jpg format.
  • After you’ve double-checked your information, click the “Submit” button.
  • After successfully submitting the online application form, candidates must print the e-challan and deposit the required fee in any State Bank of India branch.
  • Candidates will be required to deposit an application fee of INR 1240 (plus bank charges of INR 60) on the second working day following the successful submission of the application form.
  • After paying the fee, the applicant will receive a copy of the challan.
  • It is also advised that candidates print the Assam MBBS/BDS application form for future reference.

Choice Filling

Candidates must indicate their college and course preferences during the choice declaration process in order to be considered for round-counselling. They can select as many colleges and courses as they want. Candidates can access the previous year’s allotment list by clicking on the link provided below. This will assist them in making college and course selections.

Seat Allotment

After every round of counseling, the seat allotment result will be declared. NEET counseling results, released in the form of the seat allotment list and seat allotment letter, will release the seats allotted to the candidates. Candidates can check their name, roll no., allotted category, candidates’ category, allotted college, quota, and course in the NEET seat allotment list. The seat allotment letter is an important document that needs to be submitted at the time of reporting to the allotted college along with other mandatory documents.

Reporting to the Allotted College

Candidates should report to the allotted college to complete the admission formalities. At the time of reporting to the allotted college, candidates must submit the original copy of the mandatory documents.

MCC 15 % AIQ Quota

About MCC:

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is the authorized body to conduct counseling for the National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Test, (NEET) for qualified applicants. The MCC/DGHS will conduct counseling for 15% AIQ, 100% Deemed Universities, Central Universities (Delhi University, AMU, and BHU including Institutional/Domicile Quota), ESIC, AFMC (only Registration Part), and I.P. University (VMMC & SJH AND ABVIMS & RML& ESIC Dental, Delhi (15% AIQ + 85% Institutional Quota), 100% AIIMS, 100% JIPMER, and B. (only 08 Central Institutes). 

MCC NEET Counselling Registration:

MCC will hold four rounds of NEET-UG counseling for AIQ, including a mop-up round and a stray vacancy round. Following the completion of Round 2, the MCC will fill the remaining seats in a mop-up round and a stray vacancy round. The following steps must be taken:

Step 1: To apply for NEET UG counseling, go to the Medical Counselling Committee’s website, mcc.nic.in.

Step 2: Then, on the homepage, select UG Medical Counselling.

Step 3: On the screen, look for the NEET UG Counselling registration link and click on it.

Step 4: Fill out the required information and register on the MCC website.

Step 5: Fill out the NEET UG Counselling application form after logging in.

Step 6: After that, upload the required documents, pay the NEET UG Counselling registration fee, and submit the form.

Step 7: Then complete the NEET counseling Choice Locking Process.

Step 8: Check your college admission status after the NEET UG seat allotment result is released.

Step 9: Then, with all of the required documentation, go to the designated medical college for admission.
