Hospital of Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College & Hospital
The British government was forced to open a hospital in 1864 as a result of social and political pressures brought on by epidemics, class conflict, and the Sepoy Mutiny. Given the pressing need, the decision was made to convert the Sealdah Market Building at Central Hall into the Sealdah Municipal Hospital.
The hospital on campus exists to provide knowledge about the practical day-to-day problems faced by doctors and other staff members, allowing students to learn about the management and administration skills that they will need once they are certified medical practitioners.
Placements
The college provides a pleasant environment as well as excellent guidance. After completing their MBBS, all students must complete a year of mandatory rotatory internship. Following that, students typically apply for post-graduate studies.
Candidates are given a year-long internship. Then it is up to them to decide whether they want to continue their education or work in various hospitals and medical institutions.
This college offers MBBS post-graduation in a variety of specialisations, as well as clinical and para-clinical subjects. Students who graduate from this college are easily placed in both the Central Government Medical Services and the State Government Medical Services. They have a better chance of continuing their education abroad.
