Hospital of Narayan Medical College & Hospital, Sasaram

The Medical College building and a 650-bed hospital were built on a 25-acre plot of land to provide the best medical care and attention to each and every category of patients, as well as world-class health care services provided by experienced doctors and health professionals.

Lt. Deo Narayan Singh and Lt. Mangla Devi, the parents of Sri Gopal Narayan Singh, had a vision for a hospital in their village to address the critical health needs of the Rohtas District of Bihar. Keeping their dream in mind, Shri Gopal Narayan Singh established the Deo Mangal Memorial Trust. Under his leadership, the Trust establishes the Narayan Chkitsalaya, a charitable hospital dedicated to meeting the health-care needs of the poorest members of society. The hospital serves the communities of Rohtas, Kaimur, Aurangabad, and Bhojpur in Bihar, as well as Garwah and Palamu in Jharkhand.

Slowly and steadily, the hospital gained popularity among the general public, and it was decided to convert the hospital into a medical college known as Narayan Medical College & Hospital in order to provide better services and conduct research. It also provided access to higher education, which was severely lacking in this region of the world. It also provided significant direct and indirect employment to the local population.

Narayan Medical College and Hospital has over 650 beds. The OPD with a computerised registration system sees a high volume of patients each day. The hospital is fully equipped with modern amenities.

The hospital provides emergency services 24 x 7, including OT, Blood Bank, Pharmacy, Ambulance, Radiology, and other diagnostic services. The hospital has a fully equipped and functional ICU, ICCU, NICU, PICU, SICU, RICU, and a separate Burn ICU to care for critically ill patients. The hospital provides 24 hour emergency services, which is extremely beneficial to the local community.

The institute’s goal is to provide affordable medical services to the needy and poor people of Rohtas and the surrounding districts of Bihar and Jharkhand.

Placements

The college provides a pleasant environment as well as excellent guidance. After completing their MBBS, all students must complete a year of mandatory rotatory internship. Following that, students typically apply for post-graduate studies.

Candidates are given a year-long internship. Then it is up to them to decide whether they want to continue their education or work in various hospitals and medical institutions.
