Qualifying DegreeCandidates must possess a recognized Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS) degree awarded by a university or institute in India. The degree should be registered with the State Dental Council.
InternshipCandidates must have completed a compulsory rotatory internship/practical training of one year in an approved/recognized dental college. The internship should be completed by 31st March . Provisional or permanent registration with the State Dental Council is required before or on 31st March . Candidates who are likely to complete the internship by the given date can also apply but must provide a certificate from the head of the institution confirming completion by 31st March .
Compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship CompletionCandidates must submit the original certificate of completion of the 12-month compulsory rotatory resident internship at the time of counseling. The dates of the internship, including the starting and completion dates, must be accurately indicated by the candidates, and these dates will be treated as final. Condonation of the 12-month internship period is not accepted, except for specific cases mentioned in the eligibility criteria.
Ineligibility and Cancellation of CandidatureCandidates found to be ineligible at any stage of NEET-MDS  will not be allowed to appear in the examination or counseling. If an ineligible candidate appears and/or is successful in NEET-MDS , their results and candidature will be canceled. Requests from candidates completing internships after 31st March  or possessing qualifications not recognized as per the Dentists Act will be summarily rejected.
Pursuing PG Course in Other UniversitiesCandidates already pursuing a postgraduate (PG) course in their university or another university may not be eligible for admission until they complete the course. Such candidates should confirm the eligibility conditions of the university before applying. NBE/MCC/MoHFW will not be responsible if such candidates are denied admission. Candidates in this situation may opt for a subject and college under All India Quota at their own risk and cost.
