Government Dental College in Sikkim

Government Dental College in Sikkim is a notable absence from the state’s educational scene. Despite the increasing need for dental education, notably Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programs, Sikkim lacks a government college dedicated to this field. This gap not only restricts the dreams of prospective dental professionals in the state, but it also offers problems to the healthcare sector’s growth.

The absence of a government BDS college in Sikkim causes the region’s dental professional shortage. With no local institutions offering BDS degrees, individuals interested in pursuing a career in dentistry must choose to seek education outside of the state, often suffering logistical and financial challenges. This not only reduces the talent pool, but also reduces the chances of creating a strong oral healthcare system.
