Mizoram has one Government Medical College with a total of 100 seats. The Medical Colleges in Manipur, Tripura, and Meghalaya also reserve seats for candidates from Mizoram.
Unlike several other states, Mizoram has no private medical colleges. Students interested in studying at private dental colleges, on the other hand, can look at choices in the neighboring states. This gives students more options if they prefer a private college or want to pursue a speciality not available at Mizoram’s government medical colleges. Admission to these colleges will be based on NEET Exam Score. Mizoram NEET Counselling will be managed by the Department of Higher and Technical Education for 85% of government college seats and 100% of private college seats, whereas the remaining 15% seats of government college seats will be handled by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under All India Quota (AIQ).
Mizoram medical college admissions are based on national-level entrance tests such as NEET (National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Test). To obtain a seat at their selected medical institution, students must first pass the entrance exam and then attend counselling. The pricing structure for medical colleges in Mizoram varies by college and course, with government colleges generally charging lower fees than private medical colleges.
