NEET PG Fee Reduced: A senior official of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced a significant reduction in the application fee for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024. As of January 1, 2024, the application fee for all candidates has been decreased by ₹750.

This decision comes as a welcome relief for aspiring NEET PG candidates. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has taken this step to alleviate the financial burden on the millions of candidates preparing for the NEET PG examination. The reduced application fee of ₹750 is applicable to all candidates applying for the upcoming examination.
In 2013, the application fee for General and OBC candidates was ₹3750, which was increased to ₹4250 in 2021. As of January 1, 2024, the fee has been revised to ₹3500. Similarly, in 2013, the application fee for SC, ST, and PWD candidates was ₹2720, raised to ₹3250 in 2021, and now reduced to ₹2500.
NEET PG 2024 Application Dates and Exam Details
The registration process for NEET PG 2024 has not commenced yet, and there is no update regarding the starting date. Once the registration opens, the information will be first made available on the official website.
As per the program released by NBEMS, the NEET PG 2024 examination is scheduled to take place on July 7, 2024. The eligibility cutoff date for NEET PG 2024 is set for August 15, 2024. NBEMS has notified that the NEET PG 2024 examination, originally scheduled for March 3, has been rescheduled to July 7, 2024, based on the revised program.
No NExT Exam Yet
With the recent enactment of the "Postgraduate Medical Education (Amendment) Act, 2023," which replaces the existing National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) with the National Exit Test (NExT), the current NEET PG examination will continue until the implementation of NExT for PG admissions. This implies that the NEET PG examination will persist until the National Exit Test (NExT) for PG admissions is officially introduced.
