Medical Seats Remain Vacant in 2023

Bharati Pravin Pawar, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, has informed the Rajya Sabha that 485 undergraduate and 247 postgraduate medical seats will remain vacant in 2023 due to the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET).

The government has lowered the NEET PG percentile to zero, allowing candidates who passed the exam to participate in counseling.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has held special stray vacancy rounds to expedite the filling of these vacant PG seats.

The decline in NEET PG percentile signifies the government's proactive approach to addressing unfilled medical seats, ensuring equal opportunities for all candidates.
