Purulia Government Medical College, formerly Deben Mahata Government Medical College & Hospital, is a fully operational tertiary referral Government Medical college. Eligibility Criteria
a) Age: The candidate must be 17 years old on or before December 31st of the year of admission.
b) Qualifying exam: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English individually with a minimum of General Category – 50% (Physically Handicapped, PH – 45%) and for OBC/SC/ST – 45% (PH – 40%).
c) Entrance Test: NEET-U.G. (NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST). Admission will be granted based on the results of the entrance examination.

NEET Counseling process
West Bengal Main Computerized Counseling will release the prospectus and schedule for MBBS state quota admission after the NEET 2023 results are released. First Round

If a candidate’s seat was upgraded in the second round and they expressed a wish to participate in the mop up round at the time of second round admission, they are eligible to participate in the candidate mop up round. Candidates who received a fresh allotment in the second round and expressed a willingness to participate in the Mop up round at the time of second round admission are eligible to participate in the Candidate Mop up round. Non-reported and seat surrendered candidates are ineligible to compete in the mop up round.

This round is held to fill vacant seats at private medical and dental colleges, with seats filled by the Concerned College.
